The Qumran center for inner peace and spiritual research

(for photos of the Qumran caves, please scroll down)

The inspiration

For many years I and a few friends had been drawn to the Qumran caves, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls of the Essenes were found.

We were intuitively guided to meditate for long hours in the caves and perform simple ceremonies. As a result of this, a subjective connection to the Essene Presence was established and cultivated.

Repeated experiences of inner guidance, both while meditating in the caves and in dreams, indicated an “inter-dimensional” desire for a place to be created in Qumran, which will focus and anchor the specific vibration of the Essene heritage and make it available to a larger public.

This specific vibration seems to have various aspects. We discern clearly a great potential of physical and emotional healing. This is enhanced by the natural environment – the desert, the Dead Sea, the special climate of the lowest place on Earth.

A higher aspect of this energy seems to be conducive to the transforming or expanding of consciousness.

We also get a glimpse of the healing potential on a larger scale, pertaining to the healing and bridging to be done between the various religions, specifically between Judaism and Christianity.

This guidance and inspiration has moved us in the last years to the commitment to bring people to Qumran and facilitate for them the experience of the living presence there.

Also, the interaction with this Essene vibration deepens our understanding of the process of healing, as some of us apply it in therapeutic practice.

We feel that the time has come and that we are prepared now to take the deeper commitment of manifesting a center in Qumran, which may provide a place for the growing number of people in Israel and around the world who respond naturally to the Essene energy, and who want to come and experience this special vibration on-site.

We would like to present to you our vision

We envision the Center functioning on various levels:

1.     On the Tourist level: giving facilities for the casual visitor to learn about the Essenes and experience a flavor of their special heritage, through a Cultural Center, which may include …(see below)…

2.     For physical wellbeing and healing: A kind of alternative sanatorium.

3.     For Deep Healing and deep inner work: a sacred retreat space, with the possibility of therapeutic and spiritual attendance.

4.     For spiritual and psychic research: a research center.

5.     Towards religious healing: a universal temple; the invitation to any kind of spiritual group to use the facilities and the special healing vibration to enhance their spiritual experience in whatever way they choose; teaching and living the basic principles of the emerging universal spirituality.

6.     Towards scientific inter-dimensional group work and group initiation.

The needed buildings for this:

1. An underground Healing Temple (“Deep Healing”):

A round space made of natural materials.

Integrating whatever is known from the Essene Healing Art with new technology.

1a. Adjacent rooms for various healing methods.

1b. Sulfur bath, and / or purification bath with spring water from the

             area.

2. Sanctuary/Meditation Temple

Universal Sanctuary, very simple, for the public.

3. Cultural Center

Exemplifying Essene lifestyle: clothes, behavior of those who work in the place, ambiance through simple furniture and natural building materials,

·         Little Museum

·         Crafts sale

·         Cafeteria: Organic food, integrating whatever is known of Essene diet.

·         Small Ritual Bath, very simple.

·         Bookstore, (especially on the Essenes and related subjects)

·         Lecture room

4. Research Center

A few laboratory rooms with healing modalities

·         Water, mono-atomic gold, Japanese Masaru Emoto water research, etc

·         Various energy-healing modalities (sound, color, etc.)

·         Psychic Diagnosis

A Computer room and well-equipped office

Library and study space

Small Conference room

5. Retreat-Space

About 10 very simple yet beautiful rooms with bath.

6. Staff Facilities (and housing)

This is a rough outline of what we envision. This vision will grow eventually into a kind of sanatorium and spiritual refuge for those who need to heal and those who need a sacred space for deep spiritual work.

We are planning to start with the following:

Phase 0ne: During 2004 -2006

The erecting of one building, which will house various functions, which will later spread to function-specific buildings.

This first house will have the size of about 250 square meters.

·         There will be a large room for group meditation and sacred services for the groups who will visit, and for locals. (about 100 sq m)

·         A room for lectures and conferences. This room can contain a small library (about 25 sq m)

·         Two treatment rooms (about 24 sq m)

·         An underground round Healing space(about 30 sq m)

·         Four rooms for staff and short-term retreat facility (about 48 sq m)

·         Kitchen and bathrooms (about 30 sq m)

·         An office room (with little niche for craft and book sales?)

This project can take place in Kibbutz Kalia, which is situated right next to the Qumran site and which has many advantages.

The Kibbutz has offered a piece of land of 35,000 square meters for this project. It is willing to provide organic food for the Center, and support it in various other ways. There are beautiful guest houses and other facilities for guests in the Kibbutz, this will be made available for the groups that will come to the center.

The funding for this first phase would be:

About $ 250.000 - for the buildings and equipment.

About $   60.000 - for the establishment and maintenance of the Center during the first two years. After this, we hope to be self-supporting and eventually make a profit, although this project is not profit-oriented.

We are planning in the near future to create in Jerusalem a non-profit organization for this purpose that will be able to receive donations for this project as well as creating a web site (www.qumrancenter.org) that will have more explicit information for this project.
